Would I want to basically trade Nene, Lou, and Anderson for Chris Paul?

Every day of the week.

You can find serviceable big men for cheap, some even minimum. Ariza is a small ball 4 anyway.

Is it really that huge? He really wasn't very good this past year.

You telling me that Dekker at PF couldn't perform at least as well as Anderson was this year?

Yeah, it's a big change.

Anderson was a good player this past season. He just wasn't good in the playoffs.

And the space he creates simply by standing on the court is very helpful for the offense as a whole.

Dekker is not nearly the shooter that Anderson is. The advantage of a SF playing PF is the ability to spread the floor. Dekker would be an undersized PF who isn't a great shooter. He can play in short backup minutes, but it wouldn't be good to have him as the starting PF playing extended minutes.

So you want a stretch 4 that can knock down a shot? You can approximate that with a Channing Frye-type in free agency. Try finding a PG with a PER of 26.

You can't tell me that a team with Paul + someone like Frye isn't better than a team with Anderson and no Paul. Three one-karat diamonds does not equal a three-karat diamond.

I think you're overvaluing Anderson.

Channing Frye made $8 million this past season.

If the Rockets sign Paul, they'll have to give up Nene, Lou Williams, and Ryan Anderson and will have no room to sign someone like Frye.

They'll have a huge hole at PF with nobody to fill it.
