Which is more effective for fat burning? Or does it not make a difference?

Short distance sprinting in intervals. Essentially HIIT.

The sprinting
This may be better on the fitness board
Both probably get it done, but HIIT has shown to be more effective
It just depends but have you noticed the difference in long distance runners and sprinters. Sprinters seem to be more cut and muscular.

Pretty simple. Would you rather look like a sprinter or a marathon runner?
Most people would prefer to look like a sprinter but then go and train like a distance runner.

Last spring I lost about 10 pounds following the Tabata protocol.
1) 10-minute jog warm up (~1 mi depending on how slow you are)
2) 8 sets of 20 second all out sprints with only 10 seconds of rest between each sprint. There are timer apps for this.
I was running in my neighborhood and had to stop when the shin splints got too bad.

Fat loss while maintaining muscle mass will be better achieved through the sprints HIIT style.
