I’d like to sign another juco big next spring if Reid ends up being 1/done.

Not sure how many good JUCO bugs are out there still. A JUCO wing and D1 transfer bigman would be ideal imo. Whatever big we get needs some size too. We have enough tweeners on the roster

Wade said last week he’d like to sign on JUCO guy to be eligible immediately and likely one transfer who will have to sit out next year.

Rachal a power forward?

Don't be surprised if he takes three spring signees.
Sampson sat the bench while walkons played tonight. That's a decent sign he's gone and Wade's going to find somebody to replace him.
He needs at least one more big with size who can bang in the paint, and he could use a wing who can defend and shoot. Get those two with grad transfers or JUCO's and then get another big with size who can sit out like Bigby-Williams did so you've got somebody who can play the five two years from now, and you might be all right.

That would be ideal, but he says Sampson was sick. The JUCO wing I mentioned would be great. 3 years left of eligibility and a 50% shooter from three. He’s also 6’5 200 pounds so he has legit sec size

It's not just tonight.
Sampson has cheated himself out of minutes with lousy defense all year since coming back from the injury. That isn't Wade's style of ball at all.
What puzzles me a bit is that he's looking at this guy Ibarguen and this other guy Trice, both of whom look like the inside banger and Windex man Combs was supposed to be this year, but they're both 6-7 and 230. I don't know that a guy like that gives you much of what you need next year. He needs somebody 6-10, not 6-7 - he's going to have two terrific 6-7 guys coming in next year, and the hole he needs to fill will be at the 5 where you can't really use a 6-7 guy.

I know he’s a good coach and knows what he’s doing but that seriously puzzles me as well. Ibarguen isn’t 6’7. I’ve seen pics of him and he’s 6’5 at most. Those guys aren’t going to help vs Kentucky and Auburn. Hell, Wade sims could do the same thing those guys are.
If you get another 6’6 guy, make sure he’s a perimeter player. I think going for a project big man from high school, JUCO wing and a transfer big would be the best bet. Probably hard to sell an elite high school post player to be the 4th big man in the class. Hell, if you can get a good hs wing, go for that instead of JUCO too

Uh, AU doesn’t play anyone over 6’8. Their best post defender was Anfernee McElmore who’s 6’6 220. Do you not remember Jordan Mickey? He was 6’7 but had a 7’2 wingspan and superb timing which made him an excellent shot blocker. Length, instincts, and timing matter infinitely more than just height. If height was all that mattered, Duop would be the best post defender in the SEC.

Mickey was a great rebounder and elite shot blocker but he did get abused is the post versus bigger defenders. I’m just saying, having size and guys that can use it is an advantage. Look at A&M and how hard it is to guard their bigs. If they had waters, they would be the favorite for the tournament

What he needs is a 6-10 kid who's a project and who would benefit from a year of coaching while Bigby-Williams and Reid handle all the minutes at the 5 next year.
I'm not sure I like the two kids from Pittsburgh being thrown around, because both of them are senior transfers and the wing is a kid who throws off a Randy Onwuasor vibe to me, but if Wade were to grab Terrell Brown, who's asked for his release from there, it would make a lot of sense. Brown is 6-10 and 240, and he's a rim protector who averaged 1.5 blocks a game in only 17 minutes a game (also 4.4 ppg and 3.4 rpg) as a freshman this year.
That's the kind of kid you can develop, and teach a lot of the stuff you taught Reath this year, and he can take over for Bigby-Williams and Reid at the 5 in 2019 where you don't necessarily miss a beat.

Sure would have been nice if Kiir didnt mess up so bad, he looked promising as a guy who could develop with his energy and athleticism. Similar to Rachal, not very skilled, but high motor.

Mickey measured up at 6'7 flat without shoes at the NBA combine
LINK
Was actually 238 pounds though. He was 6'8.25" in shoes, but always tough to go by in shoes measurements because for some it adds only like 0.75" and other 1.5", flat bare foot measurement is a true measurement of height.
Jarell Martin was only 6'8 flat. And had short arms at only 6'9 wingspan. Mickey's wingspan by comparison was 7'3.25"

how about RJ Hunter. 6'4" with a wingspan of 6'10" wow.

But shoes are variables, again, hence why they measure without shoes. Your true height has always been where you are without shoes. Do women go around saying they are 5'10 when they 5'6 in 4" heels?
One person could gain .5" from shoes, another 1.5", depends on the shoe. If they are both 6'2 without shoes on, is the person who wears 1.5" shoes really 1" taller than the person wearing 0.5" height shoes? They are still both 6'2, one is just wearing taller shoes than the other

Kiir was dismissed from the team.
