I am having the same issue. I want to hang a TV on the back porch, but don't want to damage the siding. Also, are you going to just screw into the plywood behind the siding or are you going to locate the studs? I'm having a hard time finding the studs behind the vinyl and plywood.

I had this question at my old house and ended up using a ceiling mount that I screwed to the side of a joist under the eave.

I was planning on just going into the plywood. It's not like tv's are super heavy nowadays.
Not sure I want to the ceiling mount either.
