Benny Feilhaber is definitely on the list.

To be fair, Bruce has called up 2 of those 3 for World Cup Qualifiers.
This will mess up the popular narrative around here. Best to keep these things to one's self.

Which of the three flaked out and went on a sabbatical to SE Asia during qualifying because of his girlfriend?

Which one was the better soccer player?
That's all that matters.

What did i post that isnt true?
Does a manager tell a couple of players that showed up and worked hard when called up over a qualification cycle that they are out when the "best ever American" decides he is ready to come back from his far east meditation?
The only reason Landon wasn't on the 2014 squad were Landon's own choices. It is hilarious that folks think otherwise.
If he showed up when called by his country for qualification he would have been on the team. It's that simple.
US Soccer didn't just magically begin because of Landon
A lot of hard working soccer players that represented our country each and every time they were called built this thing.

But Landon was good enough to be called into the prelim roster having returned from the sabbatical over a year ago?
If he was such a detriment to the team, why call him up at all?
And again, did Jurgen call in the better soccer player?

Do you agree that if Landon would have shown up, when called by his country for qualifying, that he would have been on the 2014 WC squad?

No, because he would've retired from hating soccer before the world cup.
Call him a pussy, but he was burnt out and alluded to 2012 being his last season multiple times.
Will you answer my questions now?
ETA: And if we're using the "more deserving players who showed up got the ticket" argument, explain Timmy Chandler going to Brazil.

I like Landon. I think he did a lot for US soccer, however, a player with that kind of mindset, taking a hiatus leading up to a WC is shite for building a cohesive 23 for a world cup.
Wynalda, McBride, Ramos, Reyna, Dempsey, Boca, Friedel, Keller et al. Would never take a cycle "off" if they had a choice.
At some point, it lays on his feet. We are not talking about Messi, Pele or Maradona we are talking about a sometimes squad player at Everton and a reserve at Bayern Munich.

Come on dude, the hiatus was from late 2012 to mid-2013. Stop acting like it was right before the final roster was due.
When he came back, the World Cup was more than a year away. And Jurgen had no problem giving him the keys on a Gold Cup squad that had 7 members who would go on to play in the World Cup.
And as for the cohesion aspect... Timmy Chandler constantly flaked out of USMNT duty, still made the roster for Brazil.

That is right in the middle of qualification. I respect you man but come on, that's the whole point. He ditched the USMNT during this time.

He didn't "ditch" them, he got away from soccer altogether. It wasn't a "hey, frick you Jurgen" thing, he was burnt out. Look, I get it, it's primadonna as shite to up and leave your job, and if Jurgen would've said then and there that Landon was no longer in the plans, then fine, I could see where he would be coming from. But, no, Jurgen started calling him back up, and all Donovan did was be the best player at the Gold Cup and score against Mexico in the match that clinched a World Cup berth. Hell, Jurgen even gave Donovan the captain's armband for the January Camp match in 2014.
So if the sabbatical shite was the ultimate reason why Donovan was left off, then why the frick did Jurgen call him back into the team?
And how many times do I have to mention Timmy Chandler before you stop ignoring how his call-up to the World Cup completely torpedoes the argument you are trying to make here?
Do I have to put it in bold?
Ok, fine

Really? You honestly don't see the difference?

No, seriously, what's the difference?

So you're not going to explain the difference?

No, I'm not going to put effort into your strawman.

How is it a strawman? You said Landon being included in the World Cup squad would frick up the cohesion of the team because he ditched the team during qualifying. Timmy Chandler turned down call ups, too. Why does his inclusion not mess up the cohesion?
All you are telling me right now by deflecting is that you have no argument at all.
Here's a stat:
Landon Donovan 2014 WCQ's played in: 5
Timmy Chandler 2014 WCQ's played in: 1
