Magic produced more win shares than Kareem from 1982 until his retirement. Magic also had a higher VORP every year starting in 1982.
Just looking at the traditional stats, Magic in 1982 (age 22) averaged 18.6/9.6/9.5 and led the league in steals per game while shooting 54% from the field

So? Kareem had 24-9-3-3 blocks on 58% shooting and led the 82 Lakers in PER(age 35), still led the team in scoring in the 82 playoffs. Do I need to re-emphasize he won the finals MVP in 85 at AGE 38?
