A massive three dimensional space if you're talking the US Airspace.
Trains travel on tracks, in a known space, with a much better idea of where they are headed in a space and time.
It's an apples and oranges argument.

I appreciate your argument but running down a railroad track at 70 mph in a blinding fog not know if some gasoline tanker or some log truck is hung-up on the next crossing you might be coming too is pretty frightful in itself.

These tubes are designed by private industry employees. They are built by private industry employees. They are serviced and maintained by private industry employees. They are flown by private industry employees. And in other areas of the world they are safely controlled by private industry employees.
Why do I suspect that DNC wants to keep their donations from government unions?

We are not in the 60's anymore. Sounded scary then but no so much today.
