Do you think teams are going to try to trade for Quintana still even tho he sucks?

Like, would someone like the Astros take that chance?

I think Cueto is the guy. HOU should go all in for him.

No you didn't, you said they both have holes for October. 4 months from right now...and you also said they won't be anyone's favorite. They'll be the Vegas favorite if they keep this pace, does that count?

That's a legit question. If they keep this pace but don't make any roster moves, you think Vegas puts them as the favorite in the playoffs (yes, even with the best record ever)?

I don't know. I kind of doubt it.

And yes I could have been more explicit in saying current rosters.

Well they're already tied with the Dodgers and Nats at +450 as the favorites and it's not something that's going to change if they still have the best record when the playoffs start.

Y'all are so so wrong. This is their regular pace. Wait until these Astros baws get hot.

They'll speed up.

Astros pitching will keep that from happening.
Might be the best stretch in Astros history and they have already run away with division.

They definitely need to be on the market for another starter for rotation. This type of season doesn't come along often, just look at Cubs start this year.

Plus, looming deals with Correa and Altuve will make it difficult to keep both.

I've opened an account that is accepting donations to fund the salaries of these two to stay in Houston.

We've raised $36.9 million so far so we'll be good.

Despite their early season struggles (of which none of the starting pitchers in those series is likely to start a game) I still think the Astros would be the favorites and would take the series.

Astros lineup>>>>>>>>Indians lineup. The Astros 7-8-9 holes have a higher average and slugging percentage than the MLB average 3-4-5.

Keuchel McCullers, Morton IMO are better than Kluber Carrasco and.......Salazaar who is demoted to the bullpen? Bauer?

The only place that the indians are questionably better is the back end of their bullpen with Miller and Allen. I feel that we are deeper though.

Hes not a UFA until 2022. Springer is 2021.

Altuve is 2020.

Theres plenty of time.

I am hoping Altuve is a lifer. Need to get HEB or fiesta to hook him up with a fat commercial deal.

At their current pace, the Astros are on track to finish 117-45 which would be the greatest regular season in MLB history in terms of number of wins.

I love how the lazy among us always think this is some hot take, as if the point of the OP was to predict who wins the WS, or that something like this somehow disregards an inherent downward bias to a projection.

Apparently we are scouting Tropicana field this week

Article focuses on Gray and Quintana but doesnt mention the opposing pitcher in the Rays WS matchup tonight....Archer.

ETA Meant this for the DAT but it applies here too I guess.

I've got William Hill here showing Astros at +450 but Cubs, Dodgers and Nats at +550. And AL West is off the board as is NL East.
