Jack Stack downtown for good Q in a nice setting. Michael Smith's for fine dining, great wine and cocktails.

Jack Stack and Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que for BBQ, Joe's is the old "Oklahoma Joe's" and was better IMO, but both were good. Joe's is more casual, and is counter service, where as Jack stack is sit down and order with a waitress.

I live here in KC now so let me know if you have any questions.
Q39 is the best bbq in the city right now. Joes is always great, Char Bar is great also and has nice patio area
manifestois a really cool bar in basement of old Reiger hotel, which is now a restaurant. Great drinks. Call to get reservations.
Julep is great bar/restaurant. Toms Town also. Oliver is on plaza and good for dinner and drinks.
If you have time I suggest heading to Boulevard. Great new tasting room.
801 chophousehas excellent steaks and wine selection

Triplicate on Q39.
Joe's is great, but the wait in line fast casual nature kind of sucks for business meetings (especially when the waiting in line can take up to an hour). Q39 or Jackstack have dining with waiters, and of those two, Q39 is FAR superior.
If you need to do brunch/breakfast, Bluebird is great.
