I think I'd personally prefer to see a Caribbean MD than a DO if I were the patient. That said it might depend on which Caribbean school though. But to be honest I would never go see a nonUS MD regardless

It's not medical school. I stand by that

It's called North Louisiana FYI. You have clearly never crossed thru there. Never have heard anybody call it northern Louisiana

I completely disagree. I think DO & Carab MD as being equivalent.

It was a correction made by my phone. And you're right, I try not to venture out to those parts often. I am proudly from south of i10.

frick you a-hole, I've worked for years to bring a new School of Osteopathy here and I'll be damned if some pissant anonymous message board poster is going to stop me
I would like to see one in Baton Rouge. But Monroe will do.

Oh that's rich! You badmouth other doctors, but expect us to trust you just because you put "doc" in your username? Maybe I should change my name to "AggieSpaceRocketMan" and tell people where they can go to school to learn space rocketing?
I have no way of knowing if you're any more of a doctor than that man down the street who used to give me free "check ups" when I was in elementary school.

Why do you hate the free market?

Of course you do. Fools stand by foolish statements.

It's nice to have some more backup in this thread. I pray the insight in this thread has provided latigerdoc with a humbling outlook in order to change his opinion on this topic. It is in the best interest of the future of Louisiana healthcare delivery & the patients of Louisiana.

The MD's that are threatened by DO's are probably mediocre doctors.
DO must have matched into the residency slot he wanted.

D.O. School is not medical school
I suppose this isn't quite the dumbest thing I've read on this forum in the past 5 years.
It's certainly a contender though.

There's like 7 DOs per year in my field in America

Not a chance. I don't need the government regulating who I want my insurance to pay for my medical care.

I'm using a business/website to advocate against a new school. It's not a legal battle it's a battle of education it isn't fighting a free market. It's fighting against poor outcomes

Give it a rest. I think you lost this battle on this board.
