I mean, they were around 5,000 years ago, so there's a decent chance many of us are descended from Egyptian kings. Sure he's talking out of his arse, but it's like someone in Asia claiming to be descended from Genghis Khan: there's a decent chance of it being true.

A huge proportion of people in western Asia are descended from GK. I recall a number on the order of 30%, but that seems too high. I know it was a huge proportion.
