Damn. Have probably been there 100 times with my parents. Never liked it as a kid, found it boring, but it was well done, straightforward south LA seafood. I haven't been there in over 10 years, wish I would have been recently (my south LA seafood appreciation has grown substantially since I've moved away).
Is there anywhere else with a comparable flounder/redfish topped with lump crab?

POBoys Riverside Inn whole grilled as well as stuffed flounder or with just crabmeat is excellent I think. Just ask them too go easy on the salt and butter.

Was at a party last weekend and someone from the LA restaurant Association was there. They said that many of the local restaurants in Lafayette are really hurting. Meanwhile chili's, Chuy's and Applebee's are always doing great.
It also seems to help in Lafayette to be a little hipster related. Some waitresses that look like gypsies seem to help
