I actually hate the tech. Historically Spidey was a very low-tech hero. He has a great power skill-set.... dunno why they feel the need to add all this made up tech and have him so beholding to Stark

It looks to me that the tech is probably part of the conflict of the story. Does he really need the trappings of a hero to be a hero?

When the whole world got more high tech so did Spidey. And when he joined the Avengers he also got a lot of Stark toys. It seems like they're just skipping over the first 40 years of his development and jumping right into the more modern elements, which makes sense considering the MCU isn't exactly starting from scratch with his character.

A marvel hero needed to be in this movie to have the rights to film it. So, they put the most bankable star into the movie. Not that difficult to understand.

You're going to get outvoted. No matter how far the look and equipment/tech of the Marvel movie heroes have strayed from the original comics, the fans will overlook all of that and embrace that the characters "have the feel of the original character". As long as Cap is a leader and Spidey tells wise-cracks, they're good.
