Flash forward to December. The Pats wrap up a 13-3 season. Is ANYONE shocked? In disbelief? Is their even an article on how the season was a "failure" because they lost more than 2 games?

I wouldn't say failure just cuz they're expected to be awesome. I'm going too far the other way. IMO the Pats are still mortal and have just as much a chance at losing in the playoffs this year as they have the last 5 years. With that being said, they can make the SB much like they have twice twice already.

Just because you talked to some buddies in a bar who told you they think the pats will steam roll everyone, doesn't mean that 13-3 would be a surprising result. Going 14-2 or better is EXTEMELY rare. It's the anomaly.

Just look at the posts on here regarding the Pats. Remember back to the Cooks trade. Ealy too (I believe Ealy will be a beast though.)

Let me ask you, Mr Patriots Fan, what do you think the odds are of the pats losing 2 or less vs 3 or more?

Then it's not a bold prediction. 13-3 likely wins the #1 overall seed. Most years 12-4 can win the #1 overall seed.

There's hyperbole every offseason. Doesn't mean that it would be a shock for them to lose 3 games

All depends on how the other AFC teams are next season. The pats will go all out for home field and then prepare for the playoffs. If another team is threatening that #1 overall spot then they'll keep going after it in week 16 and 17, which could flip the team total by a game or two

Overall tho I would say it's much more likely that they go 12-4 or 13-3 than it is to say they will go 14-2 or 15-1 or 16-0. The only "bold" prediction in there would be them going 16-0. All the others wouldn't really move the shock needle

The Pats O/U total in Vegas is 12.5 btw. If 3 or more was a TOTAL SHOCK, then that number would b 13.5 or 14.
