Cavs have had a harder road to the finals than Warriors

Pacers are no doubt better than the Blazers without Nurkic
Raptors and Jazz is close, I'd give the edge to Utah slightly.
Boston is no doubt better than a Kawhi-less Spurs team (unless you're James Harden, but if you're James Harden you're gonna lose when it matters most no matter who you play)
Cavs and Warriors are both beating teams they should beat and are superior than. But just keep this in mind when Lebron makes finals number 7 and the retort is that he couldn't do this in the West. Warriors playing the Thunder in WCF last year is really the only series that was a lot more difficult than anything Cavs have done the last three years.

He wouldn't make 7 straight Finals in the West. This year notwithstanding. Saying so doesn't make you a James hater.

Meh. They both have incredibly easy roads to the finals so it really doesn't matter. Many people have said since the day after the finals last year these two teams would meet again. Probably the most obvious statement in sports history.

He would if he was on the Spurs or Warriors

This is a midget fight but I'd say Utah is easily the best team either has faced.

I think Celts are better than Utah but I could see the case for it, but still a team Cavs would easily handle Utah.
The point is just that we can't shite on what Cavs/Lebron do in the East/ when the Western path isn't much harder. Again, in the last three years, the Western Conference champ has only had one series (WCF vs thunder) that was substantially more difficult than anything Cavs went through

The Celts would have been the 5 seed in the West. Hell, I'd take the Blazers over the Celts even without Nurkic. Dame is a better version of Isiah and CJ is a scorer himself.

If you are still in basketball shape, YOU would win the WCF if you were on the Warriors. Wave the towel 13Saint. attaboy. 1 minute left. get in there with Ian Clark. get him a shot in the corner. attaboy. you can have James Michael McAdoo's time.

right. but most of the times he'd have made it to the finals in the west, he'd have won the title. So he'd still have about the same number of rings.

I'd still take a Kawhi-less Spurs over Boston in a series.

Warriors only title was the most gift wrapped title I've seen in recent memory. Every team they played had a top two or three player out/injured/restricted minutes for the series. And they still needed six (almost seven) games to beat Lebron, who had Mozgov as his second best player.

This is all manner of true.

Based on the logic that many use, this would actually be better for his legacy.

People who say this are idiots.
Are you saying the cavs wouldnt? Because if bron was in the west what team would he be on?
The warriors with curry?
The spurs with leonard?
The clippers with cp3 and griffin?
Okc with westbrook?
Pelicans with ad and boogie?
If lebron were on any of those teams he would be in 7 straight finals easy.
Or are you randomly saying he goes to the kings with no one else?

quote:Completely disagree. Let's take 2 seasons ago as our first example. The Cavs had the 2nd best record in the East, but the 7th best in the NBA overall. That would have put them 6th in the West. And realistically, if the Cavs played a Western Conference schedule instead of their Eastern Conference schedule, it's possible (and even likely) they would have finished 7th.
right. but most of the times he'd have made it to the finals in the west, he'd have won the title. So he'd still have about the same number of rings.
But anyway, 6th in the West means they would have had to face in the playoffs:
First round:
Cavs vs. Clippers (those Clippers beat the Spurs that year and nearly went to the WCF. They were really good)
Second round:
Cavs vs. Spurs or Grizzlies
Third round:
Cavs vs. Warriors
Finals:
Cavs vs. Hawks or whoever
Last year:
Cavs record would have put them 3rd in the West and they would have had to play:
Portland
San Antonio
Golden State
And in the Finals probably the Raptors or something.
I'm not sure they get out of the West either of those years much less win the whole thing. I'm not even sure they'd make the conference Finals either year.

So this is where LeBron fans start fluffing up the East to try to convince us it hasn't been a cakewalk comparatively.

The reason LeBron has been to so many Finals is because the teams he's on have no competition in the East. If that same team was in the West he may not even reach the WCF much less the Finals.

It is a cakewalk because lebron is on the team. He makes that much difference. Hell boston has the one seed not the cavs
