It's quite apparent now that there are two populations in NOLA and this board in particular.
1) The Delusional's: This small group of people / population that believe that New Orleans is some bastion of liberal prosperity and that by removing anything of real meaning will attract people to come back to the city and settle down. They don't mind circumventing rules or making decisions on behalf of the majority, even it's widely considered a terrible one. They also don't mind spending your money on frivolous things all while ignoring major issues because NIMBY right? They also don't understand what an ISD and why their schools consistently suck nationally. the top 1% of this bunch usually wind up Mayor or part of City Councils. You can typically find these individuals at Starbucks or Wal-Mart on the first of the month.
2) The Everyone Else Club: These folks realize that NOLA and area like NOLA are a lost cause and have either moved further out or even away from the state. These folks typically make the National Median Average in income if not more. They also have the largest swath of skill sets. Texas/TN/Georgia greatly appreciate these folks. Typically these folks hold some form of trade or college degree. This group also includes folks in SELA who seem to now be the minority and plan to move North or West.
Oh and CapperVin

I feel stupider after reading this.

Pretty much nails it. Although the other side would change the names it would still be the reality.
We'll take stock in 4 years and see what the result is. It's their social experiment now, and they're gonna pay for it, not me anymore. I never called my representatives for anything against NOLA but now I am. And where I am if you support NOLA you'll be thrown out of office. A lot of voters are suddenly very motivated. They can't control Orleans Parish business, but the state Legislature can turn the screws. And NOLA will have no friends in Washington either for the next several years. The O gravy train has left the station.
The stuff on this board is worth 2 cents, but the reality is what it is.

still melting and melting hard. It feels awesome walking through the Quarter on such a beautiful day while drinking a bloody mary. I guess everyone decided to start their boycott tomorrow because it's packed out here. Locals, tourists, convention goers, and all people of every ethnicity are out enjoying what this great city has to offer. I hope you enjoy your day melting in your moms basement!

I'm not sure I have heard anybody ever state this.

For the Delusionals, add leftist to your adjectives. Also, I think they want to drive out certain people from the city

3) the I don't give a shite -
These people could care less about the statues. Most didn't even realize there were so many until the last few weeks. Removing them will not change their opinion about nola in any way. They will still come for Mardi Gras and other events and spend money in the city. Most live out of the area and wonder why those dipshits elected Mitch so many times in the first place
