NBA fights weren't exactly a huge deal until they decided to be idiots and go into the stands.
Football players are constantly antagonizing eachother, and as long as you don't throw a punch it's usually not an ejection. shite, what's the baseball equivilant of Odell Beckham Jr. and Josh Norman allowed to be complete assholes to each other for 60 minutes without anyone being ejected?

How quickly we forget the 80s and 90s.
Also, it's about being a professional. When the dress code wasn't as strict, some of them dressed very unprofessional.
One last thing I'll mention is exposure. The NFL and NBA players have press conferences after every game I believe and you can always find them live somewhere or replays on a sports highlight show. MLB, not so much. Their post game interviews are usually done immediately after the game while still on the field and usually they're still in their game clothes. Usually, NFL and NBA players go shower, then go up to a podium where reporters ask them questions while they're in front of mics and cameras.

The Kermit Washington/Rudy T. incident was huge.
