The Lakers has had a really high pick for 3 years in a row and have done NOTHING to show for it. They have nobody to be angry at but themselves.

The lucrative local TV deal they have is in about year 4-5 of 20. The NBA's new deal with TNT/ESPN is in year 1 of 9. I'm sure a good Lakers team is better for ratings, but with the renewal of the current deals so far out I doubt the league feels any pressure to help them. LeBron vs. the Warriors is a great story line for now and the Playoff Ratings have been doing pretty well.
