Peterson says he's never played on a team that they didn't stack the box against him.

Not even with Favre.
Peterson interview
Also explains why Favre had such a great year that year, despite having obviously slowed down a few years before.
So big respect to Peterson or disrespect to an old Favre? (that team's would do that)
Peterson interview
quote:
When you look back over your career, even dating back to college, can you remember when you had the opportunity to play on a team like this?
"I can't remember. It's funny you say that because the first thing that came to my mind was in 2009 when Brett Favre was there. As the season went on, I thought it was a fluke the first couple of weeks, because they continued to stack the box. They put eight men in the box and week by week it pretty much kind of stayed the same. I am looking forward to that not being the situation this go around."

The same could happen but I doubt it. I think those roles will be reversed here. AP was the young gun there and Favre was the old vet that no one thought had it anymore. I could see teams still respecting Brees and giving AP running room early.
I think teams will gameplan like he's done until he starts producing and then they might stack the box.

Who knows but he threw for the second highest total of his career in 2009 with over 4,200 yards.

This is the main reason I'm hyped for this season. We are two dimensional on offense. Defenses are going to have to pick their poison.

For the people who think hes lost a step....note that this is from 2015-2016

Guy has the quickest lateral step in the league.

This is gonna slay in NOLA.

He might make Ingram look slow and lazy.

This will be like Drew and Reggie but better.

It's hard for most people to understand what guys like AP and me went through.

This offense is gonna be nasty. Like I could see us finishing with a top five passing and rushing offense, easily. Brees throws for 4500 yards, Thomas has 1300, Snead with 1000, Ingram with 1000, Peterson with 800, Kamara with 800 all-purpose.
