A lot of boxing snobs won't want to admit this, but the Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight probably did more damage to boxing in the US than anything else in decades.

Without a doubt it did and it sucks because boxing is better than this year than it has been in at least 5-10 years.

It is what was/is wrong with the business model of boxing. They should have fought 5 years before, but Mayweather had all the leverage and pushed the fight off for years until Pac was past his prime. The we get an over hyped dud of a fight.

Hopefully they are learning to put good fights together now that they have competition from UFC. People will watch boxing if you put good fighters against each other in their primes.
