The basis of what you are trying to gain with alts is BTC. You are consequently wanting btc to rise in usd value for compound gains. There is too much fluctuation in usd value for alts because it is still all based on btc’s usd value. You need to look at Alf values in sats. Look up how to convert and it will all make much more sense to you.

quote:Meh, I disagree. I've been in crypto for many years and still value my portfolio in USD rather than BTC. For traders, sure, BTC comparison is better. I am not a trader, I only buy/hold so USD is how I value mine
awful idea to do anything crypto related based on USD price -- unless it's BTC

Crypto making a return it looks like

That’s exactly what I’m thinking, I could give a crap about bitcoin. I want usd back out of my crypto when I’m done with it. Not considering USD is beyond stupid.

Because if BTC goes up 10% (like today), the value of LINK in BTC will likely tank by a similar amount (like today). But when you check your account, it will look like you either stayed flat or actually went up in USD.
On the flip side, if BTC goes up 10% AND Link goes up 10% against BTC, your USD account value has even higher gains

Not true, bitcoin plays a role but what I’m ultimately after is dollars. Bitcoin could collapse tomorrow but that doesn’t mean my investments are tied to it. If that were the case all you would need to buy is bitcoin.

The only way you know what your bitcoin is worth is through the dollar. It has to reflect a dollar price, how else would It be valued?

If bitcoin tanks your alts won’t be worth shite

Your crypto investments are 100% tied to BTC. The reason you buy altcoins is because there is hope that they will go up 1000% in value, unlike BTC which is only (lol) 122% away from all time high
BTC up = alt coins sell
BTC down = alt coins sell
BTC flat = alt coins increase AGAINST BTC
BTC up = alt coins sell
BTC down = alt coins sell
BTC flat = alt coins increase AGAINST BTC

Facebook will launch crypto in 2020 - BBC
LINK
• Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is planning to release its cryptocurrency, internally called GlobalCoin, in about a dozen countries during the first quarter of 2020, according to a report Friday from the BBC.
• Plans for the coin will be laid out later this summer and tests will begin by the end of the year.
• CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly met with Bank of England Governor Mark Carney in April to discuss the crypto, and also spoke with U.S. Treasury officials regarding regulatory issues and firms such as Western Union (NYSE:WU) to discuss transferring funds.

Or he will rely on his Director of Blockchain Engineering at Facebook, Evan Chang, who is a technical advisor for Chainlink

Are you all in on Chainlink or do you have other crypto’s you like?
Posted on 5/27/19 at 11:42 am to Dellybelly82
Basically its all Chainlink and eth.
I’ve been left bag holding VET and ICX and ECA but the rest I’ve taken losses and thrown it into Chainlink
I just don’t think any of these platforms or daps or micro currencies have anywhere near the potential as Chainlink
