Just like those Ven bags you bought in January at ath lol

if you bought anything in January, you bought at an ATH with exception of BTC

How can I get into an ICO? I’m an accredited investor but as an American it seems like I get rejected. I looked into one presale, which I think I could participate in, but it was 25 Ether minimum which I don’t feel like risking at this point.

So you’re an accredited investor but can’t risk 25ETH?

LOL I am a physician and so is my wife, so we qualify based on income, but I am new to crypto and the idea of throwing $15,000 into one project right off the bat does not seem like a good idea. I would rather start smaller. But thanks for your response.

a couple thoughts
1. being "new to crypto", as you put it, I would be extremely hesitant to invest in an ICO. They are rife with scams and dead projects just for quick cash. Seasoned investors get burned and throw enough money around to make up for it elsewhere. Also, I dont want you to get burned on your first investment and losing 15k, forever leaving the crypto space with a bad taste
2. the fact people "new" to the space are asking about ICO investing means we're about to go on a run BOYZ 2 DA MOOON

Thanks for the response. I am pretty wary. One of my good friends is pretty heavily involved and he has given me lots of advice. I think it is good lol. He has mostly just pointed me in the direction to educate myself, and he gave me some of his thoughts on good buys for the long term.
Anyway, it turns out, I am not even allowed to invest in the pre-sale I was looking at either, because I am an American. So now i am looking at other options.
What do you all think of Metronome (and their descending auction)?

Andy, just buy BTC, or REDD or DGB or LTC or XLM or ONT to get started.
Have you even opened up an account to move US$ into crypto? That is a good first step to accomplish.

Yep...don't wait until we go on a run before you get the account set up. This caused a lot of heartache last May when ETH exploded

Don’t listen to OleWarskule, he’s the joke of this entire thread. He’s bragged about his entry points and the money he’s made, when it’s proven he’s bought at all time highs again and again. Good luck to you, you’re getting in at a good time I think, unless the BTC predictions of 4K come true lol

Thanks guys. I did open an account on coinbase in early May and then on binance shortly afterward. I’m probably up like 5% on a small investment, but my goal hasnt to make a quick buck but to hold for long term. But I would love to put another small amount into ICOs... just apparently we get screwed in the USA. But I do appreciate the advice and input :)

Any long term portfolio should have a couple hundred at least in VEN imo. I don't wanna sound like an OWS-esque shill but VEN has a potential to be pretty big.
Of course, like any project, is has the potential to go to zero, too.

quote:ICO’s can always be bought for less shortly after it comes out because all the people who got paid in its tokens while working on the project, cash out and the price tanks.
I would love to put another small amount into ICOs.
Avoid ICO’s. Watch wait and buy later. Be patient
ETA: 50% of last year’s ICO’s are defunct now. Google/YouTube search for sauces until you got it.

Buy Chainlink. Price is pathetic right now for what this utility token will do for smart contracts

Man, there seems to be another drop going on.
Thank god gdax took a week to accept my bank transfer of USD.
What do you guys think?
