I respectfully disagree. My boyfriend and I quit watching ESPN awhile ago because we were tired of getting leftist politics shoved down our throats by a "sports" network. Add to that, many of their personalities decided to add their leftist message to their professional Twitter feeds. We both decided to unfollow a lot of them. Use your personal account to express your political views, not your professional account.
they're not trying to keep people like you
being political and marketing towards the black community is their best shot to keep ratings somewhat stable. their best shows are direct in this manner
demographically, it makes sense. due to SES issues, blacks in the US are far less likely to be cord cutters. why wouldn't ESPN focus on marketing towards teh demos who are more likely to remain actual television viewers (esp for non-sporting events content)?

Totally get what you're saying. Demographically, there are many more of us though...so they had to realize they were sacrificing a much larger audience for a smaller demographic. Long-term, that is a terrible business decision.

How many black households is ESPN reaching vs. the amount of white households they have lost as a result. Perhaps not a direct result (ie. cord cutting, cable too pricey, etc).
Not a zero sum game in this instance IMO
