I don't think a MLB team would work based on NOLA market size.
They reasons you listed are a non factors
Only 81 games.
NOLA already has a dome.
Hurricanes? Really? How does Miami do it with all these hurricanes messing up the schedule

I'd much rather go to Houston than New Orleans to watch a MLB game.

Miami has a roof for their stadium and garbage attendance. Same with Tampa.
