The best part I like in hearing this is that Loomis might be making a stand against getting arse raped by the Pats. I like that. We come up with our valuation and if that isn't enough for you then we move on. Makes me optimistic that if it does still happen it could be without #32.
I don't discount the possibility of it happening until right before the draft though. The Pats WILL be hungry for more picks with nothing until #72. My best try at objectivity says he's worth #42- and that is the high end.

I see it both ways. I would be ok with keeping picks or trading for Butler. One thing with trading for Butler is that he is a proven top db and with Brees at 38, and coming off three straight 7-9 seasons we are without question in win now mode.
I feel like drafting a db can be a high especially if we are counting on them to come in and make an impact day one. To me Butler is the safer route to go. His proven effectiveness at the position coupled with our inability to draft good dbs over the last several years.
