Bad commute choice imo. You will bounce like Tigger especially southbound and gas mileage is poor.

I'm not sure why you want the Rubicon package

If you don't plan on doing any off-roading in them you really don't need a Rubicon. Unless you want to be "that guy"....the poser with the lifted Jeep with 15K in modifications on it....that has never taken the Jeep off pavement. Just likes all those things that makes him look cooler.

Have you been in a recent Jeep? You must be thinking of the older ones.

I don't "bounce like Tigger" in mine on my daily commute to work.

Gas mileage is no different than an SUV or truck. I get around 18-20 in mine.

You do realize that many guys that do serious Jeep off-roading actually prefer the 4 door jeeps over a 2 door jeep for that purpose?

And you can't overlook how much easier it is to take your kids to soccer practice either.

Definitely do not modify it with a lift or anything else. The driving will be affected.

Yes I have and jeeps are more bouncy than cars and the southbound causeway is very bouncy. I love jeeps but it's certainly not a good commuter choice.

Rubicon package is a great start, but then just upgrade both axles and throw in an atlas transfer case and your commute will be better than any escalade could ever dream...

I don't get the hate for the 4 door ones on here. Even if you don't have kids....4 door ones are awesome for camping trips. Very easy to put the back seat flat and load the Jeep up with all your gear.

Not worth it in my opinion- cheaply made vehicles & reliability has always been an issue. If you can accept that- then you're a Jeep guy.

All the packages are confusing. I just assumed the Rubicon was the nicest. I liked a Rubicon and he Winter Edition that I saw in Covington.

They drove really nice and while it was a bit louder than other vehicles, I didn't mind it.

I am just looking for people who drive them across the bridge on a daily basis.

Why would you upgrade Dana 44s?

I'm with you. I love mine and would never go back to a 2 door.

If this is just a cummuter vehicle, simple question do you plan to routinely drive with top down/off or doors off. If not, it's probably not a good choice for you.

It is the most expensive because it has more features for off-roading.

I have a Sahara...that one is nicer in that those have more comfort features in them. I still have 4X4 and tow package on mine...but didn't have all the extra off-roading stuff in it. I don't do serious rock climbing off-roading in mine though so I'm ok with that.

I will say this....maybe the ones out now are better but the GPS navigation (Uconnect) that is in my 2014 Sahara...it sucks. So don't spend extra money for the navigation system.

Have a Wrangler 2dr for fun. Have a sedan for commute. Travel for work all over n around Lake P and the Jeep got really old real fast. Not a daily commute vehicle at all! Bought a Ford fusion to drive the wheels off for work -leather, satellite radio, A.C., total comfort. Jeep is opposite of all that IMO, use it for the weekend.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the JK - 2 door or 4 door. It's being marketed and used the same as any other SUV now.

Amen, nurse...some of these clowns are worried their hemorrhoids will act up on bouncy ride...

I have a 4 door, doors off, roof off, sunshade up...

I've offroaded ozarks, rockies and appalachians...is the best

What comfort features do you have that a Rubicon doesn't?
