Axis seems to be a solid gun. Be sure the gun has a top notch recoil pad (get a new pad if necessary). At the range use a "sissy pad" and ear plugs plus muffs. Start your young ones off w/ reduced recoil ammo.

Ear plugs are the most important to me.

Young kids don't flinch from the kick so much as the pop and their ears ringing
