Though the picture is bad, it doesn't seem like a brown widow. The abdomen pattern is too subdued. And, he can flip it over for the hourglass (put it in a glass jar).





These are brown widow abdoments.

I've killed hundreds between camp house and our plant is covered up with them. The only thing I've seen bright on them is the orange hour glass on belly. OP needs to flip or wait until she lays that spiked sack of eggs.


ETA: just saw the egg sack pic not a brown widow,!their sacks posted on this page
