In the National Football League, a restricted free agent (RFA) is one with three accrued seasons (six or more regular season games with a team)[1] of service, who has received a "qualifying" offer (a salary level predetermined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and its players, known as a "tender") from his current club.

quickly looked up the exact definition of RFA. that tender and its terms are only for the Patriots. theres no way for it to transfer to a new team.

He signed the sheet.

He wouldn't be traded under your scenario

That seems unlikely because he'd literally be Untradable if another team couldn't take on his contract - even if it was with intent to restructure.

He's not a RFA anymore. He's signed a contract now

Except that is exactly what happens. When he signs the tender it becomes a one year deal for that price. Any team that trades for him gets him on that deal.

No where in the cba does it say he isn't traded on that deal (because he in fact is).

Now the Pats could extend him before he gets traded but that is super rare.
