Do you have a boat?

Rockefeller refuge is usually good. If you have a boat go to the weirs. If not, go down Price lake road and crab off the side of the road.

It's been many years since I did this, but I can remember my grandparents having a camp in the marsh out of the island in point aux chenes. We used to stop on the island road at the little bridge about halfway to the island and run turkey necks on string from the area around the bridge.

Also, maybe anywhere on the way down to Grand Isle. You'll see little spots where people pull over to fish. Try there if there is some flowing water like a bayou. Wouldn't waste my time in a stagnant pond.

And certain times of the year, just running lines on the beach in Grand Isle is great. But I don't know exactly when they run the beach.
