Nah. They don't have any long range delivery systems. We're talking about overthrowing a nuclear power with strong ties to a super power.

In the short term are they a threat to mainland US? No but they do pose a threat to US assets in the region and regional allies. However sooner or later they are going to perfect their missile technology and than they will be a threat to us. The question is do we wish to tackle the problem now or later?

The real issue here is China. China is our only credible geopolitical foe in the world. Russia and Iran are a fricking sideshow. Us controlling North Korea instead of China is huge leverage for us.
