I rented, "The Natural" last night.

He has seen parts of The Sandlot but not sure if we have watched it from start to finish.

The Sandlot will be a mandatory watch.

So far...

The Natural
Sandlot

What else? I think until he gets older, Field of Dreams might be over his head and little slow as of now.

Considering he's 8... Rookie of the Year, and Little Big League.

Once he's older you can move on to Major League.

I'm trying to think of movies which are appropriate for his age.

Is "Million Dollar Arm" good?

What was the movie with Dennis Quaid where he's an older dude and pitches past a speed trap and ends up getting a job in the big leagues?

The Rookie with Dennis Quaid. He'll be fascinated that it was a true story.

On repeat loop.

If you want him to appreciate what he has, then put Hardball in that rotation as well.

Yeah, I was going to suggest this but I didn't know how he would feel about showing him a PG-13 movie.

And Bad News Bears, though I watched them around his age. (Not that Billy Bob Thornton horseshite either.)

Also, an old black and white one that I liked as a kid were It Happens Every Spring.

There was another really old one that I liked but I can't remember enough about it to find it.

ETA: The Kid From Left Field is other old one I was trying to think of.

Cool Runnings, it's not about baseball which makes it automatically better than every movie about baseball.

I'd be perfectly OK with my son looking right at my wife and exclaiming "Yeah we the Kekambas, bitch!"

Can't stop laughing at this.

It's as if you asked, what's that movie where they threatened to pistol whip the next guy that said shenanigans?
