Uh...it hasn't and only the most myopic supporter believes it was.
When both sides of the aisle and the director of the FBI (you know the guys who do surveillance) say it didn't happen. You can bet it didn't.
All this was about was deflecting attention from Sessions who was under fire for his Russian adventures.
In that, Trump was brilliant because it worked.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Short of a photo of Obama in a bucket truck outside of Trump tower with a line man's hand set, they will never admit he was right.
They will go literal down to the spelling of a word if they have to, to avoid admitting that Obama and his team are a bunch of cheating, Chicago slime.
The truth is, he spied on people that he knew trump was communicating with to get around the law. He did this with Nethanyahu, so there is precedent for this kind of tactic. Then he unmasked because the intelligence is useless with out names, and had his trolls leak it to thier minions at the NYT and Waco.
