That's my suspicion as well, but then Disney has managed to update their original cast while staying true to the core characters, and theirs were even worse than Looney Toons. Bugs Bunny and pals were just violent and casually racist. There is a comic of Donald Duck as a fricking Nazi, for God's sake. And yet he is still immensely popular, while Bugs Bunny has disappeared.

I'm sure the PCpolice have got their creative team handcuffed in a corner. By today's standards, it's a cast of trigger warning characters
which is likely buried with the Atari E.T. games. Disney has all but wiped that from their library
