My sister had a baby 13 years ago that was a high-risk pregnancy. She was born with one kidney, and one that didn't work so well.

They could never get health insurance for her because of "preexisting conditions" that she was born with. Multiple surgeries to get the one kidney working (stents, etc) and bills that no human being should have to worry about.

4 years ago, they found a tumor wrapped around her spine that eventually resulted in 80% curvature and surgeries to remove the mass and rods in her spine.

I'm thankful for "Obamacare" in that instance, but f'n hate having to spend $1400 per month to insure my family of four.

Something is not right either way you go.

Ummm... humans still foot 100% of the bills "on human should have to worry about". It's just shifted to other people. Those bills didn't just magically disappear.
