I find juggalo culture to be very interesting. I have watched as many of those docs and read as many articles as I can find.

They are this segment of society that everyone generally forgets about and when they do think about them they usually look down on them. From the interviews I have seen they do seem to be as ignorant as you would think, but there is something well intentioned and genuine about their trying to find a place for themselves in a society for which they are maladjusted.

Miracles.
SNL had a great spoof of this with Bobby Moynihan. "What's up with islands?...get more land."

I've seen several articles from Village Voice, AV Club, and other hipster sites that say the same thing. They started sending people to the Gathering a few years ago and the reporters unironically had a great time. There's reviews every year now. Juggalos are fun to be around for a short while.

Maybe this says more about me than them, but something about the juggalos seems kind of childlike to me. Like these might be people who struggle to solve problems in every day life that are simple parts of being an adult to me. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I imagine that type of drama, drugs, and immaturity that goes with them would be difficult to deal with outside of one crazy weekend.

A while back I noticed a hatchet man tattoo on the fore arm of a young woman checking me out from Rouses. I thought that this is probably what a typical juggalo looks like in everyday life when the rest of us run into them.

Only disenfranchised retards listen to ICP. They basically have the same fan base as WWE.

They aren't even really memes. They are song lyrics and screen shots from the music video. The line after the magnets quote just puts the cherry on top of intense ignorance.

quote:

fricking magnets, how do they work?
And I don't wanna talk to a scientist
Y'all motherfrickers lying, and getting me pissed

Just special, isn't it?

Even more amazing is that supposedly they are one of the better promotions to work for. Wrestlers get treated well, paid well and pretty much every wrestler that has worked with them has nothing but praise for the way they run things.

Everything about ICP blows my mind. Their music absolutely blows, but somehow have probably the most loyal cult like fans of any group out there.

Also they are apparently worth $30 million. Bananas.

Whoop Whoop!

Their followers are the same people as the old Goths with a different color scheme.

The whole juggalo / gathering culture is simultaneously sad and unintentionally hilarious. It's like a real life Coen brothers movie.
