Tell your kids to play Golf, Tennis or in the NBA. Derrick Rose makes more in endorsement money than Tom Brady, Cam Newton or Drew Brees.

NFL players hindered by having less global reach.

That makes no sense. If that were true soccer players would be at the top of the list. Try again.

I'm like 90% sure Ronaldo and Messi are 1-2 in salary per year, not counting endorsements. If not, I know they've been at the top of some kind of salary/endorsement pay type list recently whether it's one or the other.

So are you talking about endorsements or salary? You do know that NBA players have a salary cap and are limited in salary vs soccer players. Lebron would make $50m a year in a no salary cap league. And golfers and tennis players can only make so much based on events entered and outcome. We're talking about endorsements here not salary.

Football players have to wear helmets and aren't as recognizable.

That makes no sense.
Do you have an alternative theory why the first NFL player shows up at the 20 spot?

Yes, I know, I'm just responding back to your comment where you essentially say that if global branding is such a priority then soccer players would be at the top.

Cool? He does and always will have a salary cap though so that's a useless point.
Ronaldo has an airport named after him. No one else on that list does AFAIK.
That's the list I was referring to, salary and endorsements combined.

American football isn't a global sport. The others are.

Is the issue with football players due to the uniform? What I mean is that they have a mask on while on the field. There faces aren't as recognizable.

That's AN issue. It's also that the life of a football player (ex. QB) isn't very long. Peyton Manning, as a pitchman is superb. He has this self deprecating humor and he "looks normal". You can see Peyton driving a Buick and saying "re-route". He's relatable. And he has charisma. Jordan is the master at this. The dude was selling Hanes shirts with a Hitler mustache. A decade after he retired!

Good grief. Those amounts of money are just crazy.

And there are a lot more of them.

They aren't athletesso they really shouldn't be listed at all but I'm really surprised there aren't more nascar drivers longevity is one of the most important parts of being an endorser

I read Jordan gets $100 million/year from Nike for the Air Jordan brand. Not sure if he is considered a business partner or endorser though.

Still the greatest endorsement out there

Brady is an odd duck. He doesn't advertise as much as you'd assume a star QB/face of the NFL would.
