NOLA also has an "open script" for narcan so that anyone can walk into a pharmacy and get it, even though it used to require a prescription.

People doing fricking heroin don't care either.

I get your point, but fentanyl is used as a cutting agent because it is a synthetic opioid itself. If a dealer cut the heroin with baking soda, there's no masking its lack of purity. Users will stop buying stepped on product. Fentanyl makes a user think it's purer heroin, when in reality it's a combination of two opioids that is far more dangerous than pure heroin.

So you want to make it about race? Okay. 45% may or may not be the majority, depending on the number of other non whites who have overdosed. But, and more importantly, that 45% is much lower than the African-American population of New Orleans which is about 60% . The same can't be said for Whitey. You can bet the house that more than 38% of overdoses were from white people. So to use your own words "go figure". So put that in your needle and inject it

Users these days are well aware of what's being cut with what, they just don't care. You tell yourself you will do a half shot or however less than normal, get that bag, fire it up, and peace. People that are that far gone on heroin are literally thinking about nothing else other than getting fricked up. Logic doesn't apply, just dumb luck

The opiode epidimic is a white problem right now. Time to own up to the skeletons in our closet.

We think of blacks as "crack heads", well when talking about a "pill head" it is overwhelmingly more likely to be a white person.

I have never been a heroin user, but I have represented a lot of people whose heroin addiction has led to them committing crimes. I have been through an addiction of my own, so I try my best to understand how people can get to that point.

The white man put crack in the ghettos. This is just the chickens coming home to roost.

To label the current heroin epidemic as a single races problem is absurd. It's our entire countries problem. Drug addiction doesn't limit itself to certain races and anyone that thinks otherwise clearly has no idea what they are talking about

It's not something that can be answered in a few sentences. It's also impossible for anyone to understand that has never been there

I took an Oxy once after having wisdom teeth removed. It was only a half. I remember how good it felt and telling myself that I could see how easily someone could get addicted to this. Never had the urge and went with extra strength Tylenol. I guess it's not in my personality and definitely not in my genes. I have 14 left in my cabinet from about 10 years ago

Yeah, I call on pain specialists. I'm in - on average - 15-20 different pain clinics per week.

From my observations, the VAST majority of patients I see in those clinics are white folks. I would venture 80-85% of pain patients I see are white.

I also find it interesting that when crack was a big deal it was "the crack epidemic". Now that it's opioids and heroin, it's an "opioid crisis".

Branding is everything.

fent is truly the devils drug. Not only are they lacing herion with fent you can "press" pills with .01mg of fent and pass it off as a roxy

let me put it another way. a 30mg roxy on the street goes for 30 dollars. peole who have scripts and sell in bulk usually sell them for 20 dollars each or so.

you can take 1000 dollars, buy 2,000 pressed roxys that really aren't roxys but pressed fent pills and pass them off as roxys

what is killing people is that people think they are taking one drug but are taking another. a person who can do two roxys at a time normally, takes 2 fent pressed pills and it's game over.

Yeah, it's just become a lot more prevalent in the white community in the last couple of years, especially in the South in the last 6-9 months or so, so white people are a lot more aware of it.

Drugs in the black community are just as bad as they've always been, if not worse.

You're reducing the simple fact I stated to an absurdity.

Of course opioids aren't just a white problem. You can buy pills and heroin from black folk if you want to. but to understand the problem one needs to know where it originated.

White peoe are more likely to have insurance and go to the doctor for health issues. Doctors had very lax prescribing requirements for opioids for a while. White people disproportionately got hooked on opioids and moved to heroin when the prescribing crackdown started happening.

It's just simply following the chain of events.
