Irrelevant to you maybe, but not to rational people. It's actually a VERY relevant point, which is obvious - we don't need to increase defense spending by another $54 billion when we are already by far the most powerful nation on Earth.

I've called for larger decreases than most people can stomach and I've laid why we should do it and how it would work.

You don't even know why we maintain the most powerful military on the planet.
Now how would you even know that? As a former service member, I understand completely the need for a strong defense, which we have. Our military is by far the strongest on the planet.
You, on the other hand, can't explain the need for an additional $54 billion in defense spending when the U.S. already spends more than the next seven countries combined (including Russia and China).

You may say you want defense cuts, but the mere fact that you are arguing with me on an elementary point that the U.S. is already the most powerful nation on Earth in terms of military spending says otherwise.
