Stony Brook's outfield would have gotten to the vast majority of the ones in the gap. We know, because in that series, they did. The ones down the lines, little change. Not sure why you are defending the LSU has 8 first baseman and 6 catchers era of recruiting, though.
We followed it up with the Mary-arm outfield era. Now we are in the midst of the "you have to have played shortstop" era.

I can go back and watch all three games to point them out but I don't have the time at the moment.
It got to the point where the casual fair weather fans sitting around me started pointing it out...and when that happens you know it's bad.
It also got so bad that Mainieri started two freshmen in Stevenson and Laird during 2013 despite Stevenson being a major liability at the back end of that lineup.
EDIT: It didn't lose us the series but there were a ton of balls that they couldn't get to because of lack of speed/athleticism.
