Are there other events going on at the hotel or just the bar area? Are slacks and button down ok or do I need to wear a sports coat?
You'll be fine in slacks and a button down. Just look decent and you shouldn't have a problem. If you are going for dinner, I would wear a sport coat but not mandatory. You'll see a bunch of former PGA guys and lots of talent there.
