I'm pretty sure it would save enough money that you could pair it with SOME tax cuts. Probably not as many as he wanted, but still.

Maybe. I'm pretty skeptical on block granting Medicaid. In theory it's a good idea, and does give some empowerment to the states to innovate new ways to administer the program. Giving that much power to some of these batshit crazy state legislatures is worrisome though.

It's an idea that makes alot of sense. But, as was played out for all to see, republican factions make consensus on anything nearly impossible.

The conservative faction wanted full repeal. They viewed watered down version as worse than letting obamacare fail. Moderates would never agree to full repeal.

A party that's essentially unable to govern won't be able to agree on block grants either. Gridlock will continue.
