The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder heard stories about LSU opening it up under offensive coordinator Matt Canada. However, the four-star signal-caller was a little skeptical after hearing the same thing from Les Miles over the years with the same I-formation the focus of his offense.

“You had to keep closing your eyes then wiping your eyes and shaking your head to make sure you were watching LSU,” said Rogers. “You’re so used to seeing LSU in the ‘I’, but it was three and four wide receivers all the time. You just said, ‘dang that is LSU’.”
“They were three and four wide on almost every play with a lot of motion and a lot of shifts to try and confuse the defense,” explained Rogers. “It was definitely a lot more different than anything has been in the past.

“They weren’t really in the I [formation] that much and when they were they were shifting a lot and getting out of it. It looked like a fun offense to be playing in and it definitely opened my eyes.

“That will definitely be a factor seeing it with my own eyes and hopefully I won’t be committed by then and I can see it again at the spring game. It definitely helped seeing it yesterday.”

Sounds like the offense rolling and hopefully we are gaining interest from him.
Also goes on to say TCU is his leader at the moment.

If he hopes he's not committed by the spring game....then umm, just don't commit by then..

It's probably why they didn't get Devonta Smith and some other people they were after offensively because these guys keep thinking it will be the same ole thing with LSU on offense. Smith didn't buy into what Canada was showing him and probably was thinking it was gonna be the same old same, well, it's not Les Miles' team anymore and so it definitely won't be his type of offense anymore, they'll find that out this new season. TCU won't be doing the things Canada will have LSU doing soon, if he was smart he would just commit to LSU now.

Depth chart with Narcisse and Brennan just signed....I would be very surprised to see us bring in a top qb. Now with a season of superlative results, the 2019 cycle would be perfect timing!

I know it's early in the process but this sounds like he does not intend to commit to LSU. If he did commit to the good guys there would be no problem what-so-ever attending LSU's spring game.

I think this explains why LSU has had such tough sledding in recruiting top level QBs in the last several yrs...

I'm not sure at the moment if Rogers is the only QB tcu is recruiting but,

Hill will be a sr. = odds on favorite.

Muehlstein will be a jr. = Hasn't played a lick.

Wooten will be a soph. = not much count

Kitna will be a soph. = son of John

Hope LSU can sign Rogers but, it appears it may be an easier road to being a starter at tcu.

IMHO

If he commits to us or not, it's good to hear how the offense has changed. If he was impressed, hopefully a lot of other guys we want will feel the same way!!!

I lack the vocabulary to describe how happy and excited this makes me.
