They will get Kiir.
They might well get Corey Davis, who is a major, major priority. Arizona is involved.
They want one more guy, who is likely a JUCO guy and more likely than not a forward. They're hustling big-time to line up candidates for that.

Is it true that Kiir is a grade risk?

I dunno.
I doubt we'd take him if he was. We need somebody who can play the 4 in the worst way.

Kiir, Davis and a legit JUCO power forward and LSU is in the NCAA next year if Blakeney returns.

Jeff Borzello tweet:
LSU and TCU are among the schools that have reached out to Jackson State transfer Edric Dennis. Averaged 14.0 points this season.
Anyone know anything about this guy?

He's a guard. Idk what to even think anymore with LSU basketball recruiting. There's no guard in the country that could turn this team around. It all starts in the post for us.

Their best player. Is a sophomore guard and would have to sit out.

It amazes me how ignorant some people are about recruiting and building a team.

A basketball team has to have guards, correct?
This guy would have to sit out next year and have two years to play. He is basically a 2018 recruit.
We would be losing Blakeney, Jenkins, Patterson and maybe more.
Not sure what your point is.

He's not an '18 recruit tho. He will be on scholarship sitting the bench next season.

Have you ever watched a LSU game or seen our roster? We have 1 big coming of the bench and he's 6'6 210. Our starting 4 isn't even a true post player either
Posted on 4/6/17 at 1:33 pm to bugafor6
Our guards are nothing special either. I would say players at all positions are needed.
This is not an either/or situation. There will be spots opening up. I believe the post positions will be addressed.

Basketball's two most efficient shots are at the rim (non postup) and the three point shot. It is a perimiter players sport and modern successful teams realize this. The traditional post game is dead, but a big that can shoot, be a good roll man, or at least rebound and defend the rim would be nice.

The post game may be somewhat marginalized, but legit big men absolutely are not. They just require more skill than ever before, so people often tool themselves into they are guards.

Post game is dead? Both teams in the national championship had post games!
Posted on 4/7/17 at 8:36 am to crzycjunx76
Post game on offense can help get shooters open + rebounding and defense is the difference in most game. It's hard to do that when you have 6'6 post players

I don't think the post game is dead. That's a ridiculous comment.
Guard play is crucial, however, and LSU should not ignore the recruitment of talented guards just because there is a need in the post.

My favorite LSU player over the past 20 years was a 6'7, 210 lb forward, Ronald Dupree. I'll take guys like him all day over 6'8-6'10 stiffs that can't play. Heck wasn't Tyrus Thomas only like 6'7 when he came here? Same with Mickey.
Guys like Alexander, Sims and maybe even Rachal just have to play a bit bigger. I'd much rather great athletes that might be a bit undersized versus a huge guy with no game..

Wayde Sims isn't Ronald Dupree. Rachal is a shooting guard and Alexander is a wing as well
