I find it admirable to want to help people. I know a family who had a child decide to live in the streets. The dad was always hard on himself because he could not understand why he CHOOSE to live that way.
They all tried everything... no go.
My point is that not everything is as black and white as we want them to be. He made his choice.
Why should we pay for him over a vet who is homeless?

but the problem is that you are dealing with people who by in large don't want help. They would rather live in boxes and under bridges than live a productive life in society. Next time you see someone standing by an overpass begging for money, ask yourself what would it take for you to leave your current life and live that way. Simply building residences in people's backyards is not going to solve the issue. Anyone who decides to let someone with potential drug, alcohol or mental problems live in their backyard is asking for trouble.
