McMillan will be the backup. Has really impressed the staff this Spring.

I agree with luvslsufootball. The depth chart appears to have been set before spring started. By 1/19, there had only been 3 practices. Guys are organized by seniority. Ross called it correctly in his pre-spring article. "Not to expect much movement in the spring from this order." No one has been "impressive" at this point. 2 practices without pads. 1 practice with pads (not-full contact). 1 scrimmage (full contact). The battle btw everybody not named DE, will probably have to wait until next spring (at least the Staff hopes).

LSU doesnt need an all star back there. We just need someone to take care of the ball for us.

Stop it with this shite. LSU needs a playmaker at QB if we want to be in the playoffs. Minus Bama who is loaded at every other position, every QB who has played in the national championship or playoffs since 2013 has been a playmaker for his team.

Plus if Guice gets injured at any point this season, the backup RBs are really going to look like some of Miles's most mediocre rush offenses.

We have a lot of talent. Right now, I would love to see a mobile package like Chris Leak/Tim Tebow. It can work.

Well except for Ohio state when they beat Alabama with a third string qb.

I want to see the coaching staff take full advantage of the talent that is available, at QB or any other position.

The ease of schedule at the beginning of the season should allow for more than one quarterback to get playing time. They should give an opportunity to see which quarterback will perform better in real game situations.

He's played SEC ball before and knows what it's like to go in a control a game.

We've had two previous returning starters that didn't make it through (or to) their next season.

Doesn't mean we shouldn't try to put one back there.

I've heard that before. Then we keep getting guys who can't muster more than 200 yards of offense against some serious defenses. Let's hope the era of praying for mediocrity has ended, and the era of mediocrity not being nearly good enough has begun. That goes for whoever wins the starting job. Hopefully that person will be able to manage most games and win a few that we'll need a quarterback to win.

I think a little competition will push DE to get better.

Ohio St went undefeated in the regular season with a QB who put up nearly 3800 total yards and 45 TDs in 12 games. That 3rd string QB averaged 277 yards and 2 TDs per game vs 3 post season opponents (286 yards 1 TD Vs Bama).

I read on Geaux247 that Lindsay Scott Jr threw the only TD which was a 60-70 yard throw to Drake Davis
