Go to a nice hotel and just sit in the lobby by the bar. They have TVs and just say you're staying there

Please be prepared to tip overly well. This is called camping and you could cost a waiter or waitress a ton of money by taking up one of their probably four table section all day.

I went to Vegas with some friends several years ago for the first weekend of the tournament. We sat in the bar by the sports book all day and watched games.

My friends and I are taking tomorrow off and planning to do this, though it is also St. Patrick's Day, so you being at a bar/restaurant and ordering consistently is probably encouraged.

College used to spend the whole day at cooter browns. It's a delicate pacing situation.

Each time you buy a drink, you're paying your rent for that table/bar stool.

And it's probably a good idea to close out at shift change and start over with the new server.

The best year ever watching March Madness was 2000. I worked in Denver and part of our "job" was to go cover the tournament from the betting room at some Vegas Hotel. March Madness overload.

The worst was last year. In the hospital fighting stage 4 colon cancer they only had two channels of the games and I was so doped up I don't remember one thing about any of last seasons games

Go to a sports bar and just leave the server a tip when they shift change.

This^^

Especially if you aren't going to be eating and drinking all day. Explain to the server/bartender what's up and tell them you are going to take good care of them and then do it. Give them a huge tip. frick the bar/restaurant making money!! You take care of the staff and you will have no problems.

Yes - you get home/room and can't remember what happened due to information overload mixed with alcohol

Not for March Madness but we camped out at a Baumhower's one year on New Year's Day for all the bowl games. Got there around 11 and didn't leave until after dark. We had appetizers around noon, ordered lunch around 3, and closed out around 5. It was just my Dad and I taking up two stools at the bar. And Dad would buy a drink for someone that walked up several times just so the bartenders didn't worry with us taking up a spot all day.

A Hyatt

Sucks man I've had more channels and better Wi-Fi in the hotels I stayed at in Bumfrick Idaho/Wyoming when moving here

Not doing to a bar because I don't have that much money to be spending. Will just have to stream TruTV games on my phone and be creative to conserve data use

Sitting at a bar stool all day wouldn't be a problem if you order a drink once an hour. Taking up a 4 top alone is a dick move though

We have been doing this for year, each year we go somewhere different, Indianapolis, Lville, Lexingotn, Cbus, Cleveland, etc. WE get a hotel and basically hit up 2-3 different sports bars a day. WE have never stayed at the same place for all of one day as that is literally a 12 hour day.

They don't care, but you need to take care of your waitress. I usally tip a min of 15-20$ if we are there for four hours. Screw the business and ordering a ton of food, it is the staff I care about.

This will lead me to drinking....boyz this weekend is a marathon, not a fire cracker. 4 days of straight BBall is rough, it's easy to get excited on day 1 and ruin it. Take it slow, this weekend St Pattys day is Fri... youch and by the time that UD game starts Fri night, let's just say I'll be Uhmm "rowdy".

PEdialite, make sure you go to bed pounding pedialite and 2 IB profiens, that helps.

Another trick is the old wiskey and coke. I will take a flask into the bars and top off my Coke's, you can call me a cheap arse, but 4 days worth of drinks adds up to 100s$ of dollars. Always pregame in the hotel with a shot before you leave!!

Also, if you are seriously going to be there for 8 hours, if you sit down at the bar or table, give the bartender a $20 right off the bat and let them know you are going to be there for a while. They will appreciate you being straight with them. And will get you better service if you tip up front
