Texas vs. LSU - possible relocation?

Have any of you heard anything about this from the LSU side? A former colleague of mine has caught wind of a proposition in the works to move the Texas vs. LSU series to San Antonio and New Orleans. The San Antonio/Alamodome crew is supposedly all on board. I'm not sure if it has been proffered to the New Orleans/LSU crowd yet.
Do you know if the Tom Benson crew have any say so in this? He obviously has a San Antonio connection and I have no idea if that was a factor.
Personally, I'd love a home and home as it is currently setup. San Antonio and New Orleans certainly wouldn't be bad alternatives, but it still wouldn't be the same atmosphere as a home and home.

Why cant they just allow big teams to play each other at home fields anymore? Id love to see Texas in Tiger Stadium. I'd love to watch the game on TV instead of Superdome

Hate this idea, takes away the point of being a home & home

Why would either team give up revenues and incur more expenses?

I agree. As I said, it is a proposition. Nothing has been approved nor have contracts been signed. I assume it has to do with TV rights/ticket allocation/etc.

My impression was that the series was setup with the intention of having it be neutral site'd all along.

Would the Superdome/Alamodome pay the universities? I have no clue how it works.

If this is true it sucks for the fans of each school.
It's just a rumor so hopefully it's bullshite.
Texas doesn't need any additional revenue this would provide and I can't see where it offers any positives for recruiting except for Texas.

Both campus stadiums are considerably larger than the pro counterparts.

Home and home series is at each schools place//leave it as that.

Everyone knows this is coming. It's just the way it is now. LSU Texas would be a massive game and too much money to pass up not to go the primetime neutral sight opener route

I'd go to Austin to see LSU at UT. I would not go to San Antonio. I'm guessing UT fans would feel the same about going to LSU vs New Orleans.

You could have all of that in Austin and Baton Rouge.

If Texas wants to play in San Antonio thats there business. Texas will come to Baton Rouge.

Of course it's a horrible idea.
Meaning Joe probably has Reliant on line 1.

Speak for yourself.

I want the game to be played in Tiger Stadium. I've yet to take in a game there. But, I also love visiting New Orleans. Even if the game is held in Baton Rouge, I'll probably spend that Friday and the following Sunday in New Orleans.

Alamo dome is a dump and seats 65k
Would much rather be on campus and stay in downtown Austin.
