Plan was to go to Disney this year with my in laws. MIL is a Disney freak and wanted to take our son. Well, plans fell through and they cantold go this year. But we are due for a nice vacation. Disney would be perfect, but my MIL would never speak to me again if we went without them.

So, over the last few days, I've been trying to find things to do. Must be short enough to flyou with a toddler from Houston. Spent way too much time on Florida, although The Keys with one day for me fishing is on the table. Have 120k miles and about 4k to spend.

Thought about Hawaii, but the flight is too long for a 2 year old. California just doesn't seem exciting with a kid. I guess I'm just looking for ideas. Doesn't need to be kid themed. But relaxing with a kid.

We just got back from colorado with our two year old. I hope yours is better behaved than mine on the flight. He was ok at first but he wanted to move around. When he realized he was stuck in his seat he lost it. Lol. And benadryl didnt help.
We may try destin or orange beach. He is very good in car seat.

I wasn't a big fan of all inclusive resorts, but imo they are a good option for vacations with toddlers. Check out the Nickelodeon resort in punta Cana. Also have Nickelodeon and Sesame Street themed resorts in the Caribbean/Mexico. Club meds are another good option, or Disney cruise.

We've flown a good bit with our toddler with no problems, longest was a 10 hour flight. Bring a carry on bag with books, toys, iPad. Play doh worked well.

Really not looking for a kid specific place. More of a place we could go to that would be okay for a kid. Don't want to go visit wine country or something. Disney was the only kid option due to her family's desire to go. Looked a a Disney Cruise too, but they aren't cheap and not #1 on my list for sure.

Orange Beach and Florida Gulf Coast is out because we've just done that too much. Her dad used to live in Destin and we've been to Orange Beach recently.

We haven't had a real vacation in about 5 years (not counting long weekends to the beach). Was looking to try something new. Carolina Coast is something we'll look at. Caribbean as well. Was hoping for other things I'd never thought of.

At 2-3 years old, beach vacations are easy. The AI resorts (including the ones that aren't kid themed) are nice because many of them have kids activities, kids clubs, and babysitters so you can get a break from the little one to have some adult time. The dining situation was convenient since it seemed like our daughter was always hungry, and it was easy to pick up snacks. But they can be expensive. We did a couple non-beach vacations when my daughter was two, but stayed at resort type hotels that had pools and big playgrounds. You can typically get better deals when older kids are in school.

Go to San Diego. Fun for everyone. Very family friendly trip.

Got the amazing zoo there. Seal beach at La Jolla. LEGOLAND. Coronado island. Then could drive up pacific coast highway and explore some of the other beach towns nearby (Laguna Beach, Newport, Huntington).

Beach vacations are better with toddler when you have a 1st floor walkout room. You'll be going in and out a lot and it's not fun if your condo is on the 17th floor. The walkout is well worth it.

I know they get a lot of hate on here but taking a kid on a cruise is very easy. We flew down to Miami when my son was 1. Stayed 2 nights in South Beach and then went on a 5 day cruise.

I'd go to Branson. Rooms are cheap. They have kid shows, in addition to Silver Dollar City

I think I'm planning a trip there at the end of July to take my little girl (2) to some children's museum that has doc mcstuffing exhibit in the OC . May do a day in Disneyland and day on the beach to round out the 4 days. Will also have a 3 month old with us but wife claims we can handle it... I'm not too sure lol

We wanted to do this exhibit before the baby was born as a treat to my girl but the only places it was available was in fricking Iowa

San Diego is our go to spot with 2 kids. There's a sea world/zoo/safari park pass for I think 1,3, or 7 consecutive days...we have season passes to both now. There's Point Loma, down town, beaches, boardwalks, surfing, old town....plenty to do. Our kids love it.

Pick somewhere you wouldn't mind them throwing fits. Managing fits seems like what I mostly did at Disney with my 2 year old a few weeks ago. Was really tough because she just learned how to do it and this is our first.

What is your kid interested in that keeps them entertained? Do the like trains? Animals? Swimming? Mine loves the water and animals, so days we spent at Animal Kingdom or played in the pool were really good days and kept stress levels down. Try to pick where you go based off what they like to do, so you have ways to make the trip better on the hard days.

When our daughter was about that age we went to Moon Palace in Cancun. Short flight and all inclusive made food easy. Took a day trip to Isla. That was several years ago but really liked that vacation because it was laid back and easy with a kid that age. Wouldn't do it again now that she is older but worked for us at the time

California is actually a lot to do with a kid.
San Diego area would be nice for a kid and it's close to Sea World and Lego Land. Lego land is the best park for little kids, all the rides are kid friendly and lots for young kids to do there.

San Diego, the zoo is incredible, animals you can't see anywhere else.
Point Loma is neat too, take him down to the tide pools.
