I mean, yeah. Do you have a better solution for terraforming Mars? Why not nuke the poles once you've reached a certain point in terraforming. That seems totally logical to me.

and he's going to get there on ICBMs he buys from Russia.
Well, you've got to get it from somewhere. Our government has raped our space program, so why not go through the Russians?

Except he didn't do it to another Luthor - he did it to a freaking Senator. Who did nothing in return because he was too intimidated.
Which as I said, another Luthor would intimidate a senator in much more decisive and badass ways.

I can't believe we're still arguing about this in 2017.

I think you should worry less about how much a year old movie stuck to the details of the comic book and more about how you're a grownass man who reads comic books and has 50,000 posts on a message board.

Eisenberg was terrible but Leto was worse, imo.

people sure start a lot of threads about BvS on here.

No, he devolved my point to post counts. You lose the debate when you do that, and he can frick off after doing that. That's amateur debating.

Eisenberg was a terrible canon Luther, but as a stand-alone one-off take on the character, he was fascinating. I hate they mostly ruined the DCEU by using him in such a monumentally important role.

Wrong. He's nothing like Trump more like Musk

It's hard to deny that at least some of Lex Luthor isn't directly modeled off of Donald Trump. I almost feel sure they got the "President Luthor" idea from Donald Trump running for President years before he won. Luthor does have a Trump like status in Metropolis.
Granted Luthor is much smarter than Trump is, isn't a buffoon, and doesn't really care about being a beloved human being. Musk is really Luthor's modern day equivalent.
I'm just saying they got the ego driven CEO who wants to run the world from Trump, but that's where the similarities end.

I don't argue with the fact that comic geeks had their jimmies rustled. I speak for normal people. And $873 million of ticket sales will back me up over your 20 dislikes.
Your 873 million in ticket sales mean dick shite....Batman, superman and wonder woman in a movie should have easily hit a billion. It didn't. The reason for that is because it sucked. You know what movie hit 1.2 billion? The last Transformers......you know the one. The one that told us banging a underage girl was ok as long as you have a laminated card in your wallet that said it was cool. That movie made more money than a Superman movie where he fights batman and Doomsday.....let that sink in.

Eisenberg's Luthor was truly terrible, due to writing, direction, acting or (d) all of the above.
One thing that would have had a small chance to redeem the character would be if we had seen Darkseid influencing him , and thus leading to his escalating craziness.
This could also have setup a future arc where supes and luthor have to work together in some fashion to stop Darkseid.
Even had the writers done that, I agree with OML that Luthor needs a lot more gravitas.

His dad, a true to source material rendition of Lex, showed up at the end of the movie, bitch slapped the shite out of his son, stopped the creation of Doomsday before it finalized, and took Lex Corp back then set himself up as the arch enemy and main villain of the series going forward.
That would've been an amazing mind blowing awesome twist that saved the movie

At least Eisenberg didn't go all Daniel Day Lewis on the set and then turn in that shite. Leto was doing all kinds of fricked up shite to be "method".
What really annoys me about Eisenberg is you can do broey or nerdy tech baron and have it work really well for an updated Luthor-- see Oscar Isaac's billionaire tech genius in Ex Machina

Musk is though, which makes him a perfect template for Lex.
Musk is almost too easy to cast as a supervillan-- digging giant tunnel under Los Angeles, giant desert factories, autonomous rockets lauched from floating sea bases, I mean he even has a weird name that sounds vaguely biblical "Elon" I mean I'm not saying he has a moonbase, I'm just saying would it really shock you?

The difference is, this guy:
Looks like he could hold his own in a fight.
This guy:
Looks like he cries after sex and my eight year old niece could kick his arse

Well, Ledger did that and was said to be intolerable to work around, and he got Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars. I don't see why this at all makes him in the same league as Eisenberg.

But Nathan was a fricking badass on top of that. Nathan didn't have to rely on a fricking jolly rancher of all fricking things to be intimidating. He was intimidating at all times and any subtle gesture he made was a power play. That's what Lex should have been like.
Posted on 3/11/17 at 8:04 pm to Breesus
Yeah, the real Lex would have mad respect for Nathan. Both Nathan and the actual Lex would have tag teamed kicking Eisenberg's arse for being an amateur pussy.
